Chicken Pot Stickers! (Dumpling)

These pot stickers use whole wheat flour which I like the final result better, compares to using all purpose white flour. With whole wheat flour, the pot stickers are crunchier, and that is what I am always looking for 😀

But by all mean, you can subs the whole wheat flour with all purpose white flour. I know many don’t really care for whole wheat flour 😀

Filling

  • 1 1/2 c ground chicken
  • 1/2 of medium onion, thinly sliced or chopped
  • 1 garlic, minced
  • seasonings (salt, pepper, Vegeta powder)
  • a little oil

Method

  • Heat oil, saute garlic and onion, mix in ground chicken, cook until white, add in seasoning, cook more until well done, set aside to cool down.

Skin

  • A little more than 1 cup of whole wheat flour plus 2 tbsp white flour
  • cold water from the tap, enough to mix with the flour

Method

  • Mix flour and water, until pliable, cover with plastic, let rest for half hour

Dipping Sauce

  • soy sauce to taste
  • sesame oil to taste
  • 1/2 tsp minced garlice
  • 2-3 tsps sugar
  • Enough water
  • salt, ground white pepper
  • A little of vinegar

Method

  • The amount is depending your taste bud actually; that is why I typed a little of this and enough 🙂 Bring all ingredient to boil; set aside to cool down. This can be kept in the fridge for a week.

How To Make Dumpling

  • Once your dough is rested, roll thinly, place chicken in the center, seal. Repeat step until all dough used up.
  • Heat non stick frying pan, place pot stickers, fry without oil until a little brown; turn them over, and add enough water to steam them.
  • Serve with the dipping sauce!
