Yay!
We entered these following cakes to Canadian Living Magazine contest of Great Canadian Cakes – This Is Canada, and we came out as one of the winners.

This cake was inspired by the commercial of Joe, I am Canadian – for Molson beer.
The bottle is edible. It took a couple of trials to make. I made my own bottle mold from bread!
I have made beer BUCKET cake before, for my husband’s birthday, and when I made this, thought I would make a differ one, which was a BASKET instead a bucket


In Canada, there are an estimated 500,000 to 1,000,000 moose with 150,000 in Newfoundland in 2007 descended from just four that were introduced in the 1900s
Chocolate maple cupcakes, chocolate maple cream, Twinkies, melted chocolate maple cream. For decorations were melted chocolate buttons with fondant.

In addition to the Beaver, the Canadian Horse is commonly seen as an animal symbol representing Canada, especially in connection with images of the Mounties.
On April 30, 2002, a bill was passed into law by the Canadian Government making the Canadian Horse an official symbol of Canada.
For legs and head, cupcakes with ganache
For body and neck, double choc chocolate cake with buttercream
For dirt/soil, mixture of cupcake with Twinkies
Covered and decorated with fondant, but not the flag

The Tim Hortons chain was founded in 1964 in Hamilton, Ontario. The chain’s focus on top quality, always fresh product, value, great service and community leadership has allowed it to grow into the largest quick service restaurant chain in Canada specializing in always fresh coffee, baked goods and homestyle lunches.
The cake is chocolate fudge with vanilla frosting. All decorations are edible, depicting baked goods that Tim Hortons offer. The coffee beans are baking chips with cappuccino flavor


Anthony’s Igloo
Common word for this snow house is igloo, but apparently the correct word would be ” igluvijaq”.
The cake inside was fruitcake with cream cheese frosting. The blue sea was also cream cheese frosting while decoration was fondant.

Canadian bacon, egg, butter and beaver’s plate are fondant. Dark maple syrup, bottle, and beavers are chocolate clay/modelling

By far, the most fun project I’ve done. Thought It was impossible for me to paint like this

An inuksuk is a stone landmark or cairn built by humans, used by the Inuit, Inupiat, Kalaallit, Yupik, and other peoples of the Arctic region of North America. These structures are found from Alaska to Greenland.
The cakes are 2 differ kinds of brownies (butterscotch and peanut butter) with chocolate frosting. I actually made a mistake, grabbed maple extract instead vanilla, and the result was amazing, hahaha!
The snow is grated coconut and the polar bear is swimming while holding a sign that says ‘I love Canada’
