Back home, my oldest sister would often make Lempeng Pisang, traditional banana omelet, totally looks different to what am sharing atm. This following omelet of mine is what would be called as Pisang Goreng, however in Indonesia, the banana is not normally mashed, only sliced if not left whole (without the peel obviously).
I was missing my sister’s Lempeng Pisang, but wanted Pisang Goreng at the same time, so here we go 😀
Psssttt… my husband truly likes this dessert….like a lot hahaha

3 banana, not too ripe, sliced
vegetable oil
1 cup all purpose flour
a dash of salt
1/2 cup of warm water (or as needed)
3 tbsp of sugar
1 egg, slightly beaten
rice chocolate (as needed)
part skim Mozzarela cheese
1/2 tsp of ground allspice
In a bowl, mix flour, warm water, sugar and salt. Mix well leaving no lumps of flour. Mixture shouldn’t be too watery.
Sprinkle all spice, stir well. Followed by beaten egg.
Add in sliced banana into the bowl, mix well. Mash the banana but not too smooth, still a bit chunky
Heat oil in a deep frying, drop 2 tbsp of the mixture into the oil until all mixture gone. Fry until brown.
Serve warm sprinkled with rice chocolate and grated cheese.
