My husband loves these cookies. They are very light. I used cookie presser for this one. Great with morning coffee or afternoon tea. You can use regular white flour, but this following is using whole wheat. Texture will be different if you are using regular all purpose, FYI 🙂

1 cup sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 egg
2 cups whole wheat flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon allspice powder
2 dried orange or Mandarin peel which I processed to powder using the coffee grinder
2 tablespoons milk
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Cream 1 cup sugar and butter; add egg.
In separate bowl, mix flour, baking powder, baking soda, salt, allspice, and orange peel powder
Add to creamed mixture with milk and vanilla. Use cookie presser, if not, shape into 1-inch balls and place on ungreased baking sheet 2 inches apart (flatten slightly if shaped to balls)
Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 375 degrees F or until golden brown
