Hi Beautiful!
It’s a beautiful day today, hot, hot, hot 24 C!
As much as I love that summer is here, there was a forest fire too close to home yesterday! Like 2 mins by car close! The community forest where my family and I would walk to whenever the weather was nice. It was really scary. Some who reside near the forest were even informed to evacuate. Morning is still around 2-4 C tho! Crazy!
I know in 2023-2024, regardless Winter, the ground under the snow were still on fire. Yep. When we got snow dump, it could be knee high if not more, yet they didn’t help at all. Then 2024-2025, Winter was short and mild, so yep, the bush fires will be expected, but we didn’t think it would be this early 😕
For today’s recipe, it’s inspired by Shepherd’s Pie, but I used ground turkey. Worked just as delicious!

2 boxes ground turkey
2 cans mixed veggies
4 garlic
1/4-1/2 c flour
1/2-3/4 c water
Crushed parsley, 1 handful
Crushed chives, 1-2 tbsp
Sweet paprika powder
Garlic powder, to taste,
Onion powder, to taste
White pepper powder, to taste
Chicken bouillon powder, to taste
Grated cheese, tons of them 😁
8 medium-large potatoes
1/4 c unsalted butter
Milk
Chicken bouillon powder, to taste
Peel and slice potatoes, steam til tender
Meanwhile, brown turkey, add in drained mixed veggies, then season with the rest of the ingredients. Thicken turkey with flour diluted in flour. Take off from heat
Mash steamed potatoes with butter and a little of milk, season and stir in some grated cheese
Preheat oven to 400 F
Spread some mashed potato on the bottom, top with ground turkey, and sprinkle some cheese. Spread the rest of of the mashed potato, and sprinkle with cheese generously. Wrap with aluminum foil
Bake for 20 minutes, take off the foil, and continue taking for another 15 minutes
Serve and enjoy!
