Maple Custard Buns

Ingredients

  • 1 c water
  • 5 tbsp Maple syrup
  • 1 tbsp quick rise yeast
  • 2 c flour
  • 2 tbsp maple syrup
  • 3 tbsp avocado mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Maple essence
  • 3/4 additional flour watch vlog

Filling

  • 2/3 c water
  • 2/3 c milk
  • 3 tbsp sugar
  • 2 tbsp custard powder

Glaze

  • Enough icing sugar
  • Maple syrup
  • Maple essence
  • A little milk

Instructions

  • Mix water and maple syrup, heat in microwave to lukewarm, then stir in yeast. Pour mixture into breadmaker
  • Add flour, more maple syrup, maple essence, and mayonnaise. Click dough cycle
  • Divide dough into portion, let rest for 20-30 mins, then bake on preheated 350 af for 20-25 mins
  • Meanwhile, prepare the filling!
  • Mix custard powder, water, milk, sugar and heat in microwave until thickened. Cool slightly or to room temperature (until easier to handle)
  • Poke a hole on each bun, pipe custard into the hole
  • Mix enough icing sugar, with maple syrup, essence and a little milk, until desired consistency, then drizzle top of buns
  • Enjoy!
