Thinly slice garlic and onion, saute them in ghee for a minute or two, until fragrant
Stir in chicken pieces and coat nicely with the ghee, cook for 2 minutes
Pour in hot boiling water and add in bay leaves, beef cubes, and vinegar. Cook covered on medium heat for 20 minutes, until chicken cooked through
Stir in sweet soy sauce (kecap manis), and season with freshly cracked black pepper
You can thicken the broth if you’d like to, by stirring in flour or starch solution, if not, leave it as is
Serve with warm rice
