Pisang Gapit

Ingredients

  • 1 bag saba bananas
  • 1 can coconut milk
  • 2 screwpine leaf
  • 3/4 c brown sugar
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  • Grill the banana, press until flat then slice, place on a plate (we normally cut the banana with scissor, instead slicing with knife)
  • Bring to boil ingredients for the sauce
  • Thickened with 2 tbsp cornstarch with 3 tbsp water

Notes

the Saba bananas in Canada are sold steamed and frozen, normally. Once awhile when we are lucky, we can find fresh Saba at Walmart if not No Frills
