Soft Chocolate Cookies


  • 1 c butter room temperature
  • 3/4 c sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 tsp vanilla essence
  • 2 1/4 c flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 c chocolate chips or baking chips are fine too
  • Additional chocolate chips about a handful or so


  • Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Prepare a baking sheet with parchment paper. Cream together the butter and sugar. Add the eggs and mix together. Pour in the vanilla and blend until combined.
  • Pour the flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium bowl and mix until combined. Slowly add the flour mixture to the butter mixture. Mix until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  • Drop dough onto prepared sheet and bake for 8-11 minutes or until lightly golden. Remove from the oven. Allow to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes. Transfer the cookies to a wire rack and allow to cool completely.
  • Melt a handful or two chocolate chips on microwave and pour it into ziplock bag. Snip the corner and pipe little spiders on cookies.
