Whole Wheat Brownies

Ingredients

  • 1/3 + 1/3 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 heaping tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 heaping tsp almond extract
  • 1 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • almond slices as needed

Instructions

  • Heat oven to 325 F
  • Beat oil and egg in a medium speed for 1-2 minutes
  • Add in extracts and beat again
  • Then add in 1 cup sugar bits by bits; at this stage, mixture will be slightly thicken and oven heat is ready; so turn off the oven and keep the door closed
  • Add in cocoa powder into the mixture bits by bits and keep beating until well blended
  • Then add in the baking powder and keep beating
  • Pour in the last 1/2 cup sugar and beat well
  • Then add in mashed banana and keep beating
  • Lastly, add in flour little by little; mixture will be thicken even more. This is when you turn on the oven again.
  • Beat mixture until very well blended.
  • Pour batter onto a baking sheet of 8 or 9 inch that already lined with parchment paper or aluminum foil. Sprinkle top with almond slices.
  • When the oven is ready again, bake cake for 25 minutes
  • Slice to serve
