Bear Claws

Ingredients

  • 1/4 c lukewarm evaporated milk
  • 1/2 c sour cream
  • 1/4 c golden vegetable shortening butter flavor
  • 1/4 c brown sugar
  • 1 heaping tbsp icing sugar
  • 1 egg
  • A pinch of fine sea salt
  • 2 1/2 c baker's flour enriched
  • 4 tsp instant yeast
  • Cinnamon sugar spread
  • Almond flour
  • Milk powder
  • Extra egg
  • Slivered almonds

Instructions

  • Into a bread machine bowl, add ingredients in order given
  • Choose dough cycle, or number 9
  • Once dough is ready, dump onto a flat surface, shape into a log
  • Roll flat log
  • Spoon cinnamon sugar spread in center
  • Sprinkle with milk powder and almond flour
  • Folding up and bottom side onto center, covering filling
  • Slice into portions
  • Grab 1 portion, slice into 3 without slicing through (you can slice into 5 - for 5 fingers)
  • Place onto baking tray
  • Brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with slivered almond
  • Bake on preheated 350 F until golden brown
  • Cool on rack
