Sop Buntut Goreng

fried oxtail soup

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs oxtail
  • Enough water
  • 8-12 cloves
  • 1 nutmeg
  • A pinch of cinnamon powder
  • 1 1/2 tsp sea salt
  • 2 green onions
  • 6 cherry tomatoes
  • A handful cauliflower and/or broccoli florets
  • 1 bell pepper yellow
  • 2 tbsp fried onions
  • White pepper powder to taste
  • 2 tsp dehydrated vegetable flakes
  • Vegeta powder Masako/Royco to taste
  • 1 c flour
  • 1 tbsp each onions powder Vegeta powder, garlic powder
  • 2 pinches of white pepper powder
  • Frying oil as needed

Instructions

  • Cover oxtail with enough water
  • Drop in spices
  • Bring to boil on high heat for 10 mins
  • Remove scums
  • Lower heat and continue boiling for another 10 mins
  • Add in veggies, boil til soften
  • Add in fried onions, vegetable flakes
  • Season and adjust to your liking
  • In a bowl, mix flour and seasoning powders
  • Take out oxtail from pot and roll them in seasoned flour
  • Fry til golden brown
  • Serve soup withy fried oxtail
