steamed buns with beef taco filling
- 400 g flour
- 1 tbsp active dry yeast
- 2 tbsp sugar
- salt to taste
- 1 cup lukewarm water + a little more less than 1/4 c
- 2 tbsp oil
- 200-300 grams ground beef
- Hungarian Vegeta seasoning or any other seasoning such as Royco powder
- 1 envelope taco seasoning
Mix dry ingredients, make a well in the center, pour in water+oil, knead well (3-5 minutes).
Cover with damp towel let stand for at least 30 minutes or doubled in size.
Punch down dough, make a log, then slice into 8-11 portions.
Flat each portion either using your hand or rolling pin, place 1 heaping tbsp of taco beef, 1 tsp sliced green onion, pinch seam to seal.
To make bunny buns, make two incision on the top, creating a V shape, while for the hedgehog, basically you just kinda make a cut here and there without cutting through the buns :)
Steam filled buns for 15 minutes at least or until well cooked.
Serve with your favorite sauce!
