Potato Soup


  • 1/2 cup milk
  • crispy turkey bacon optional
  • grated cheese as needed
  • 1/2 small onion chopped
  • Hungarian Vito seasoning
  • 1 heaping tsp ground black pepper
  • garlic salt
  • green onion thinly sliced
  • 3 large potatoes peeled, boil/steam/bake
  • 1 handful all purpose flour
  • 2-3 tbsps margarine
  • 1 1/4 cup water or as needed
  • Hungarian paprika


  • Mash cooked potatoes, no lumps!, set aside
  • Make roux by heating margarine in medium heat, saute onion until translucent, then add in all purpose flour, mix well, do not get burnt, pour in milk, stir well.
  • Add in mashed potatoes, stir well, then add in water as needed to make the consistent of soup as desire.
  • Add in seasoning, pepper, and garlic salt, stir well.
  • Serve warm with shredded cheese, green onion, paprika, and turkey bacon
