Butter Chicken (Ayam Kecap)


  • 1 green onion
  • 8-10 pieces chicken cleaned and washed
  • frying oil
  • 2-3 tablespoons of sweet soy sauce
  • 4 cloves of garlic
  • 1/4 water
  • salt sugar, and MSG if desired
  • 2 tablespoons of butter/margarine


  • Crush garlic and mix with a little salt, then coat chicken
  • Heat the oil in a deep frying pan, fry the chicken until cooked, set aside
  • Meanwhile, crushed the other 2 cloves of garlic, make thin cut of the green onion, set aside
  • Heat the margarine, saute the crushed garlic, add in sweet soy sauce, stir well, if needed add in 1/4 cup of water.
  • Add in salt and a little bit of sugar and MSG if desired, then add in the fried chickens, stir well.
  • Just before turning off the stove, add in the thinly cut of green onions.
  • Serve with hot rice, and chicken soup if you like!
