Tuna and Mushroom Chowder

Ingredients

  • 1 small onion finely chopped
  • Mrs. Dash table blend
  • margarine
  • hot sauce
  • 1 1/2 cup water
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 can of cream of mushroom or cream of celery or cream of chicken
  • 1 can tuna
  • 1 can of mushroom drain
  • 3 large potatoes peel, boil, mash
  • Hungarian Vito seasonings
  • 1 stalk of celery finely chopped or thinly diced
  • seasoned salt
  • garlic salt
  • Hungarian paprika

Instructions

  • Melt margarine and saute onion until translucent, then add in celery, mix well
  • Add in tuna and mushroom, mix well, add in 1/2 cup of water and paprika, stir well.
  • Add in mashed potatoes, stir well. Pour in milk, stir well.
  • Add seasonings, stir well.
  • Add in cream of mushroom or cream of celery or cream of chicken and 1 cup of water (or less for thicker chowder), stir well. Then finely drop about 3-4 drops of hot sauce, stir well.
  • Let simmer, not too boiled. Serve hot with bacon bits or toast or a spoon of sour cream
