Homemade Tortilla

Ingredients

  • 2 c flour
  • garlic salt to taste or regular salt
  • 1/2 c golden shortening
  • 1/2 c water or just enough, lukewarm - if needed, add more water

Instructions

  • Mix flour and salt, add in shortening and mix with fork until coarse, make a well, then pour in 1/2 cup lukewarm water; work your dough, if it's needed, add more lukewarm water. Let dough rest for 15-20 minutes.
  • Flour very lightly your working board, divide dough into 8-12 equal portions of balls, then flat each of them fairly thin.
  • Heat your griddle or non-stick pan, fry without oil
