Chicken Biryani

Ingredients

  • 1.4 kg chicken breast skinless, boneless
  • 1 box of biryani seasoning powder got it from Walmart
  • 1 medium onion
  • 1 thumb ginger
  • 2-3 tbsp grapeseed oil
  • 1-2 to matoes diced
  • 2-3 star anise
  • 2 green cardamom
  • 1 kapol putih white cardamom
  • 2 tsp store bought minced garlic
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 c yogurt
  • 200 ml water
  • Basmati or long grain rice watch the vlog

Raita

  • 2 long English cucumber
  • Enough yogurt
  • Salt
  • Cumin powder
  • Cayenne powder
  • Lemon juice
  • Cilantro

Instructions

  • Saute sliced/diced onion with sliced ginger in grapeseed oil, on medium heat, until fragrant
  • Add in tomatoes, cook til soften
  • Stir in spices, followed with garlic
  • Add in cubed chicken, stir to coat
  • Mix in biryani seasoning, stir well, continue cooking until chicken breast are whitish
  • Stir in yogurt and pour in water
  • Continue cooking on low-medium heat, until water is lessen (if you are using raw basmati rice in the mixture, cook until no more water, and rice is done)
  • Serve with white rice and raita

Raita

  • Slice thin or cut washed cucumber, you can skin it if you like
  • Place it in a bowl a long with enough yogurt, seasoned with salt, cumin powder, cayenne, lemon juice
  • Mix in sliced cilantro
  • Chill before serving
