Langos

Ingredients

  • 350 ml lukewarm
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 500 g strong bakers flour
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 2-4 tsp salt
  • 55-70 g unsalted butter
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • 1/3 c vegetable oil mixed with 2 tsp minced garlic
  • Sour cream
  • Grated cheese

Instructions

  • Soften yeast in water, let stand til bubbly
  • Mix flour, sugar, salt in a bowl
  • Pour in yeast, knead
  • Knead in butter, cover, let rest til doubled in size
  • Heat oil for frying in a deep fryer
  • Divide dough into portions, and roll flat each portion
  • Fry dough one at a time, flipping once
  • Brush fried bread with garlic oil
  • Smear some sour cream, and top with tons of cheese
  • Serve immediately
