Paradicsomos kaposzta

Ingredients

  • cabbage sliced thinly (or as you prefer it)
  • 2 cans of diced tomatoes my husband's late grandmother made her own tomato sauce --> if its chunky, you can process it in food processor until it become smooth sauce, if you are too lazy like me, leave it be ;)
  • salt and sugar as needed
  • a pinch of caraway/fennel seeds
  • enough water or you can use chicken broth
  • and 2 chicken/beef bouillon cubes
  • enough flour dissolved in enough water
  • 1 medium size onion thinly sliced
  • cooking oil as needed

Instructions

  • Wash clean cabbage, drain the water
  • Heat oil, saute onion until translucent
  • Add in cabbage, stir
  • Add in caraway seed and salt, stir
  • Pour in enough water
  • Drop in cubes
  • Bring to boil
  • Adjust sugar and salt
  • Lower heat, add in dissolved flour, cook til thicken
  • Simmer for half hour
