Bolu Kukus Daging

Steamed ground beef sponge cake

Ingredients

  • 1/4 large onion sliced
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 c lean ground beef
  • 1 tsp Vegeta powder a pinch of ground white pepper, and 2 tbsp sweet soy sauce, such as Indonesian ABC brand
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 100 ml milk
  • 1 tsp Pandan paste

Instructions

  • Heat and saute
  • Add in 1 c lean ground beef, brown
  • Season with 1 tsp Vegeta powder, a pinch of ground white pepper, and 2 tbsp sweet soy sauce, such as Indonesian ABC brand
  • Beat 4 eggs with 100 g sugar
  • Beat in 150 g flour mixed with a pinch of salt
  • Melt 2 tbsp butter
  • Beat in melted butter into batter, followed with 100 ml milk
  • Preheat steamer, wrap the lid with clean towel
  • Divide batter into two
  • Leave one as is, add 1 tsp Pandan paste to the other half
  • Pour white batter on mold, steam 5-7 mins
  • Sprinkle ground beef on top
  • Pour green batter, steam 5-7 minutes
  • Repeat steps
  • Steam the whole for another 20 mins
