Hungarian rice cake

Ingredients

  • 3 c rice half cooked
  • Milk 1/4 c milk plus 2 c whole milk powder + 3 c water
  • 3 heaping tbsp sugar
  • 1 vanilla sugar
  • 3 yolk
  • 3 egg white
  • 1 c or more of raisins
  • 1/4 - 1/3 unsalted butter
  • Unflavored bread crumbs for sprinkling
  • Sauce of your choice vanilla sauce or Raspberry syrup

Instructions

  • 1st, mix whole milk powder with water in a bowl
  • Place half cooked rice in a pot, non stick if you have, then pour in 1/4 c of milk, cook on low-medium heat
  • While cooking, stirring continuously, while adding milk a ladle at a time. Continue cooking and adding milk, until rice is fully cooked
  • Take off from heat, add in yolks, stir in butter wooden spoon
  • Add in vanilla sugar, sugar, butter, mix well
  • Beat egg white until stiff then add into rice mixture, stir
  • Add in raisins, stir well
  • Dump mixture onto parchment lined rectangular pan
  • Sprinkle with crumbs
  • Bake on preheated 350 F for 40 mins
  • Serve with your sauce or syrup, if you like (I like resting it for a couple for hours on the fridge, sugar with settled and sweet enough without any sauce or syrup!)
