Pai Susu

Ingredients

Crust

  • 1 c flour
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • a pinch of salt
  • 94 g vegetable shortening love the yellow one
  • 1/3 c nut milk

Filling

  • 3/4 c nut milk
  • 1 tbsp + 2 tsp cornstarch
  • 1/2 c coconut milk
  • 1/4 c maple syrup
  • 1 1/2 tsp vanilla essence
  • a pinch of turmeric powder optional

Instructions

  • mix everything and knead
  • roll flat and place it on pie plate, poke holes all over with fork
  • preheat oven to 450 F
  • bake for 9-10 mins
  • let cool to room temp

Filling

  • mix everything in a pot, bring to boil, stiring continuously until thicken
  • take off from heat and pour into crust
  • sprinkle top with grated nutmeg, if you wish
  • chill to firm up
  • slice and enjoy!
